VISION

GLENN COUNTY

GENERAL PLAN

2007 - 2027

Agriculture & Resource Development

Agricultural land continues to be carefully conserved, and new and more effective steps are employed to preserve agricultural land.  The preservation of agricultural land is not just for nostalgic reasons, however.  The agricultural sector of Glenn County's economy and the county's rural heritage remains prominent.  Outside the major development centers, population density remains low, with scattered homesteads and some non-farm rural residential settlement around established communities.  The aggregate resources of Glenn County supply the long-term development needs of the region.  The energy resources of the county are fully developed to provide for the economic development of the area with a transition underway to sustainable energy sources as the non-renewable resources are exhausted.
